Confusing by the email from UMD, anybody help!

I haven't receive any email from UMD after I submit my application, but just now i receive a letter from the international education services. here is the original letter

"Thank you for your interest in attending the University of

Maryland, College Park. In order to evaluate your application

we need the following documents:

- Proof of funding. If you do not receive an assistantship or the

assistantship you are offered does not cover one year's worth of

expenses, you will be required to show the remaining finances.

As soon as we receive the necessary documents from you, we will be

happy to evaluate your application. Please contact our office at

(301) 314-7740 if you wish to discuss this matter further. Please

return the requested documents to:

University of Maryland College Park

Enrollment Service Operations

Application for Admission

College Park, MD 20742

International Education Services"

I even havn't know whether I have assistantship, how and where should I found my "proof of funding"document?

Is there Anyone can help me? Thanks a lot!!

I feel for you, lost in International Student Bureaucracy. If I were you I would phone (not e-mail them) right away. What they might be asking for is a Certification of Finances, which some schools want you to fill out even if you write zeros across the board (which I do, given that I'm usually kinda broke).

I have already mail my Certification of Finances to them with my transcripts in one package. Since they told me they have receive my transcripts, it's impossible for them not receive my Certification of Finances.
