M.Div at University of Chicago: How does an applicant's gender/religion/race affect application?

Jumping into the conversation, I'm just going to go ahead and say that I played the Pakistani Muslim Female card HARD in my applications. You gotta do what you gotta do!

(Although, I will say that I also had a 3.83 GPA, wonderful LOR's, great writing sample, and pretty good SOP... I did, however, bomb the GRE's...)

It saddens me that I have no 'card' to play. But alas, I suppose I would do the same thing :). Being white and wanting to study bible is a fresh new approach, right!??!

Last year I received an email offering admission to the MA program on March 14, so probably not for another couple weeks at least...I don't know when MDiv or AMRS students heard, but I would imagine at more or less the same time. They just made offers for the PhD program a couple days ago, so they need to figure out the PhD yield and funding packages before they make offers for the various masters-level programs.

Oh, I would totally agree! The hard part about being a Pakistani Muslim female, however, is that fact that you never feel like you fit in with the rest of the class -.-

In other news: anyone know when Chicago releases decisions for M*?

I know the admissions committee made decisions last week. I heard that letters should be out soon!
