fenderpete Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 It's just come to my attention that some of the schools I've applied to have Twitter accounts for their specific departments. I hadn't really thought about that until now. Before I'd checked out PoIs and been cognisant of the fact PoIs might check my account out, but never really thought about schools doing it. Dug a little deeper and found people tweeting at various programs basically saying "OMG JUST APPLIED TO YOUR MA IN GOLDFISH!". Am I wrong, or does this seem a little much? I've addressed tweets at PoIs before but even then, that was 9 months back before I submitted apps. At this stage, is it not a bit high wire and cheesy to be pulling that sort of thing? Thoughts?
fenderpete Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 I'm guessing it is just me then lol.
Helpplease123 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) Maybe... you've made me nervous... I dont even have twitter... should I be tweeting messages to my schools?! Edited February 3, 2012 by Helpplease123
LinguisticMystic Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Hah yeah that is pretty silly. Maybe for undergrad... I checked out my undergrad's Twitter account once & they tweet congratulatory messages to people who hashtag their acceptances which is kind of cute. But those are 17 & 18 year olds. One of my POIs started following my public Twitter account a few months ago... (well before I applied). Things could get weird if I get a reject from that school.
