publicpolicylady Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Ugggh I know I should never have re-read my SOP essay but found a glaring error in the third paragrah. Will I get dinged by HKS over this if the rest of my application is otherwise strong? I am praying not. Anyone else have a similar situation?
iwouldpreferanonymity Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I made a pretty glaring mistake in my SOP for one doctoral program, but they have admitted me anyway. So, I think that a type itself - no matter how glaring - does not necessarily lead to rejection. As with most things, different schools, and different admission committes, probably had different standards. I would not worry much about it though. publicpolicylady 1
sherpa07 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 GULP, I just found this in mine, too. Not exactly "glaring" (no one who read my SOP - 6 or so people - noticed it), but I can't take my eyes off it. Any other advice?
soaps Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I'm confused. Is there an advantage to submitting before the deadline?
alf10087 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 It will look bad, but I don't think it will lead to a rejection if all your other qualifications are outstanding. If you are on the edge, it may be a deal-breaker.
