Soc231160 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I know for a fact that last year it was more of an interview invite that an open house invite. Some were admitted before coming others were just invited to the weekend and then found out after the visit if they got in, were waitlisted or rejected. Emory does it this way to I believe.
Sociograd Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Do you know if they let those people who got in before the interview invite that they had indeed been accepted? Or does everybody have to wait to find out?
princesspi Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I applied to UC Boulder because of their GIS studies. I am interested in spatial analysis. I had no idea it was so competitive. O.O
sociologygradgirl Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 by the posts from them in the past years, it looks like you get invited to an interview/ "visit day", then later are accepted/rejected.
sociologygradgirl Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Seems odd no invites are out considering the visit day is supossed to be in exactly 2 weeks.... I'm starting to wonder what's going on or if the day got moved or something... the anticipation is literally driving me insane. I would be happy to get a rejection letter at this point, just to know SOMETHING
kbirch Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Darn... I REALLY thought we'd hear something today since the visit day is so soon! Now we have to wait until Tuesday... So far away!
Soc231160 Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Just got my invite not an admission just an invite
RunMilw Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 I got an invite as well. It seems to me such sort notice to find a flight for just an interview.
Supernovasky Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Welp, I guess that means no Boulder for me.
princesspi Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 It looks like they sent out one email out and just "bcc" everyone. I don't know why they wouldn't just submit rejection letters along with the invite. I am really sorry. Although, the email clearly states that they are not done with admissions and that desicion notifications wont be sent out till mid-March.
kyrina Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 "final decisions will be sent out early next week" - Sara Steen, graduate director at Boulder.
Soc231160 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 How many people are attending the weekend? I guess they will decide after they interview everyone!
