No word yet, but I haven't given up hope. Weird that people were notified on a Saturday. I wonder if it was the same POI for both people.

Just got a phone call from my POI, also surprised by the Saturday notification!

Did he/she happen to mention anything about cohort/applicant pool/notifications? Just curious... :P

I didn't get any details, but the official acceptance is on it's way, so perhaps that will give some more information. According to last year's posts, acceptance calls seem to roll out over the course of a few days, so I'm sure they are still notifying! Good luck :)

That was me! It seems as though notification largely depends on your POI, so don't give up hope quite yet!

Thanks! I see we both got into CUNY. Congrats on that. If you don't mind my asking, what's your field/POI? You can pm me it if you want.

I just remembered that UC: Davis forced me to take the SoP I was using for most other programs and split it into separate 500 word documents (SoP and Personal History). Reading them now, they do not even come close to matching the quality of my other ones. Shit.

As predicted, rejection number 1 is in. As I said before, I reread my SoP for this program and I am totally unhappy with it. Can't believe I wasted my money like that.

Also, this is in their rejection letter and it kind of infuriates me: "your qualifications are impressive." Um, I'm sorry, but we all know this is a generic letter. Don't try to sugarcoat it with sweet phrases. "Oh, they think I'm super great; they just have such a small class size!" Please.

I've noticed a lot of people saying that they think the e-mail is nice or polite. I don't know... I guess I just don't appreciate the faux personalized style of rejection e-mails. I'd honestly rather just have the stale, cliché form letter. That is, of course, unless you really do have a specific compliment of sorts.
