Safferz Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 My first choice right now, visiting March 7-9 before I accept the offer. I've never been to Boston/Cambridge and I'm really looking forward to it. Anyone else visiting?
healthpol Posted March 2, 2012 Posted March 2, 2012 Hey Safferz, I might visit at the end of March. Quick Q, for the embark link to accept the offer: what showed up for u once u logged in? Mine is still blank.
Safferz Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Hey Safferz, I might visit at the end of March. Quick Q, for the embark link to accept the offer: what showed up for u once u logged in? Mine is still blank. I don't plan to accept the offer until after my visit later this week, but I just tried this link and it worked just fine. After putting my email and password in, it gave me preliminary questions to answer but I'm going to wait a week or two before filling out the form.

DanMcD Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Officially got my scholarship, and accepted my position. Now just have to return my financial aid award letter and get all my info sent over!
Gvh Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Returned my award letter last week - planning on applying for housing next week; anyone else applying to housing at HGSE?
DanMcD Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Returned my award letter last week - planning on applying for housing next week; anyone else applying to housing at HGSE? I opted for looking at off campus housing in Allston. My girlfriend found us a nice large 2nd floor four bedroom for about 2400. Of course, I never really had a shot at HGSE housing anyway since I'm just over the river.

Yeah, I'm hoping for Cronkhite or Perkins since I'll be moving half way across the world

I was considering the GSAS residence halls, but I'm not sure I could handle living in a dorm!
moka0502 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Hi all, I probably haven't done a thorough enough search on the forums, but does anyone know where I can get a quick primer on Cambridge/surrounding areas/what to expect in terms of monthly rent prices for respective areas/etc?
12WardP Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Somerville is a pretty cost-saving place to rent near Cambridge. That's probably where I'll look.

Harvard Law School has a useful guide on their website here. Most of the grad students I met during my visit live off-campus in Somerville.
