Maybe I should just wait and see but as im international and the letter is coming from California I have a long wait ahead of me now! Just wondered thoughts on the following....

Until Thursday evening my application status was in the first stage (since submission on 15th Dec) saying they'll get in touch if they need anything etc.. When I checked Friday morning it had finally changed message to tell me the admissions committee were reviewing, which was a relief! But now this morning it says a decision has been made and is in the mail and I am so freaked out!! How did they decide so quickly? I thought it would be in review for weeks! I definitely didn't have an outstanding application, so i'm thinking this must mean it was an obvious reject but i'm a bit desperate as this is my first choice school.... Just wondered if anyone has had experience of a decision being made this quickly and whether it is likely to be a good or bad thing?

I am also able to log in to the camel link with my USC Id and when I click accept offer MPA fall 2012 appears below...is that a good sign or can everyone?!

I'm not familiar with USC's system, but in the acceptances I've gotten so far, there is an "accept offer" link on the log-in page. I think you're in. Remember, those pages aren't updated by the committee, but by the grad school/grad studies office, and they're not on the same timeline as the departments. That might explain why your status was only in the "review" stage for a short time.

Good luck - it looks good!

Thanks so much for the reply, I am really freaking out now! The camel link is a completely different website to the application page (all that says is that I can only get my decision by post and it's on its way). In my head i'm thinking I wouldn't be able to log in to a site to accept/decline an offer if I didn't have one but i'm scared if I get my hopes up and don't get in, it will be even more sad!

Hey, that sounds great! I can't see any reason that there would be a button that says, "accept offer" if there were not an offer to accept. I didn't apply to USC, but the one rejection I've received changed my application page to just a statement of rejection, no buttons, no links, just a "thanks but no thanks" message. However, I would wait until the letter arrives to see the details of the offer (funding, etc.) before formally accepting. It's entirely possible that they made the decision quickly due to rolling review periods, or they were just determining funding and didn't want to send the offer without that information. Congratulations, relax, and good luck with your other applications too. :)

hi!

that camel link thing sounds interesting. Where exactly can I find it?

Did you finally get the letter from USC?

i don't have it anymore but if you google camel link usc it will come up. I wouldn't worry about it though - I only found out about it because some other people were discussing it on another forum, lots of people have said it isn't working and I haven't got my decision yet so don't know what it is. I did call and apparently it's coming via fed-ex and I should have it by the end of the week though...can't wait!

Please guys you're making me feel SO guilty for mentioning the link! There is NO proof it means anything!! In fact, USC probably took the whole thing offline because they can see us discussing it and trying to predict decisions we don't have yet!

You know, there may be some truth to the camel link thing. My rejection letter arrived by postal mail today. Ah, well.

Oh no! Camel link didn't work for me either! I'm still waiting too.

you got into USC, congratulations!!!! :)

Thanks!! I'm so happy!!!! I got my I-20 and on there it mentions a scholarship of 17k under funds but I haven't had any letter from SPPD about it, just the generic letter from the grad school. Any ideas what that means? I don't want to get my hopes up...

congrats! i told you that you were in!

did they mention when you need to respond by? i'm guessing they're waiting for the first batch of admits to respond before moving onto the next group. i was hoping to hear from them relatively soon (good or bad) primarily because i'm interviewing for a fellowship contingent upon my attending usc and i need to respond to another offer by the 15th. aaarggh.

Thanks, i'm so excited!! Have you told USC about the fellowship? When did you apply, when you hear is probably related to that - from what I saw of old posts they do seem to do acceptances in batches but it didn't seem to be related to people accepting or declining offers, more when they sent in their app.

No not yet - my letter from SPPD hasn't arrived yet but will next week and apparently that's where it gives the date for acceptance. I'll let you know when I get it!

Good luck, I think you'll be fine, keep me posted! :)
