aspiringmaster Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Anyone apply? Anyone heard back yet? I submitted on Feb. 1 and have yet to hear anything
domnulsl Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 I applied to MPA/IR at Maxwell on January 7, got an acceptance email on January 31 but my buddy received his MPA acceptance letter last Tuesday. Maxwell should send out the rest of the decisions soon. Good Luck!!!
cresxxl Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I also got admitted to the MPA/IR joint program by Jan.31~
aspiringmaster Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 still no word on regular MPA admission, submitted on the deadline, Feb. 1
GC Addict Posted March 7, 2012 Posted March 7, 2012 Has anyone heard back from them (regular MPA admission). I know that some MPA/IR folks have heard back but what about just regular MPA?
Hansgullit Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Hi! I got my acceptance email to the regular MPA program on Jan. 31st. Biting my nails for the financial aid decision... Good luck!
aspiringmaster Posted March 8, 2012 Author Posted March 8, 2012 I was also accepted to the MPA program. 3/7
Chipembere Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Anyone going to the accepted student day? I was, like a few others, accepted to the MPA/IR program. Received notification a few days ago. Where else did everyone apply?
Hansgullit Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Applied to Georgetown MPP / University of Geneva IO MBA dual degree, accepted in Geneva, waiting on Georgetown. Applied and accepted to Heinz CMU MSPPM and Maxwell MPA.
aspiringmaster Posted March 11, 2012 Author Posted March 11, 2012 I was accepted to Maxwell MPA and will be attending there in the summer. Also accepted to GW Trach, and American SPA, (waiting on one other, Penn Fels), but I will be attending Maxwell. Can't wait!

aspiringmaster Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 Well for me it really came down to personal reasons. While GW obviously has the alumni advantage over Maxwell in DC, I'm not necessarily sure that I want to end up in DC. The prestige and history of the Maxwell program really attracted me to it, along with the flexibility to be able to use the degree locally, regionally, or nationally (I'm from Western NY).
IdnujnanCihtrak Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 any idea how long they take. I applied for admissions pretty late - March 7th...how long would i have to wait...and will i have a chance even?
pg374 Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Heard back from Maxwell MPA on 3/7. Accepted, but waiting on the financial package. International student here, and just received another email, mentioning that my offer is conditional, as they require official COF to release my admission packet, along with documents for VISA application, etc. Does this indicate that I won't receive any funding? Has anyone else, who is international, received a similar email recently? Also, called up school to check what this conditional email really means. And they assured me that this no way represents any decision, which they have taken on the financial aid front.
GC Addict Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 When are they going to release the financial aid info. any ideas?
Hansgullit Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Anybody get any financial aid offers yet? The waiting and checking my email 50 times a day is killing me...
Chipembere Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I attended the admitted student day and was told decisions on fin aid would be finalized end of next week. Happy waiting!
yazidkhair Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I got admitted to maxwel MPA, but not yet return the Intention to register form because I have not received the letter. I live in Bukittinggi, west sumatra, Indonesia. Does any one know how long does it take for a mail from USA to reach Indonesia?
12WardP Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) Got funding for a "half-time tuition assistantship" + a Teach for America fellowship, which comes to 1/2 tuition. Will be declining it, so that should go back in the pot for everyone. Good luck guys! Edited March 27, 2012 by 12WardP

Did it seem like a mass email or was it personalized?

Still waiting to hear...but if the funding isn't great I won't be attending either. :/
Chipembere Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 Just received this email: "We are pleased to inform you that you have been chosen as a Maxwell Dean’s Office Professional Scholar by the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs for the 2012-2013 academic year. The Professional Scholar Award has a value of $5,000 and will be credited to your Bursar’s account upon your matriculation: $2,500 for fall and $2,500 for spring. This award will be applied toward your tuition and is made in recognition of your academic and professional achievements. This award is renewable for your second year of study, providing you are making satisfactory progress in the program. In total your award package is $10,000. Congratulations!" Not nearly enough and pretty disappointed to be honest. Won't be attending at this rate. LOL at the fluffiness of the e-mail and the reality of the award being less than 14% of the tuition and 10% of the total cost of attending.
bubblegun Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I'm not sure if it will be helpful to anyone seeing as I'm a MAIR applicant, but I was offered $21k in a scholarship + GA packet. I received the e-mail today.
