OnceAndFutureGrad Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Hi all, I have been admitted for a PhD in Art History from Tyler School of Art at Temple University. Hooray! I look forward to meeting other Temple grads. I currently live about an hour and a half from Philadelphia, and I have friends there, so I am somewhat familiar but not very knowledgeable about the city. I plan on renting a room in Fishtown, so let me know if you are interested in sharing an apartment, know someone looking for a renter, etc.
unitname Posted February 23, 2012 Posted February 23, 2012 where's fishtown? lol! If I get into temple's art history that would be a dream.
OnceAndFutureGrad Posted February 26, 2012 Author Posted February 26, 2012 Fishtown is located about a mile east of Temple in eastern Philadelphia. It's a pleasant though somewhat cramped working class neighborhood that's experienced something of a revival in the past few years. There are a number of incredible bars and shops there. My friends in Port Richmond nearby always come into Fishtown for fun. It looks like a good room can be found there for $400-500 a month.
Chai_latte Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 You might want to swing by the Philadelphia, PA thread.
vtstevie Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Yeah, I've been watching it, but no one has posted there in like a month so I figured I'd give this a shot instead

I'm an undergrad here, so if you have any general questions/concerns, I might be able to help.
vtstevie Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 how big are intro level history (or humanities in general) classes?
jitterbug1472 Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 I'm coming to Temple in the fall for my PhD in social psych!
norangom Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 how big are intro level history (or humanities in general) classes? I'd say its pretty good. Temple's revamped course search is usually up to date, so you can rely on the information there.
