Ameonna Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 February 29th is only a few hours away (in my time zone, at any rate,) and I figured now would be the perfect time to remind everyone that the shortest, yet seemingly longest month of the year for grad school applicants is nearing its end. Looking back, it's been a crazy month for me, filled with mixed emotions and lots of craziness, but it was worth every second. How about you guys? Looking back, on the last day of February, how do you feel about the process up until now? Was this a month to remember, or a month to forget?
We regret to inform you Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I hope i hear good news tomorrow so that i have a reason to remember february 29th as a day that permanently altered the course of my life. Realistically, it'll probably just be another day of silence. LinguisticMystic 1
talific Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 My month consisted of a *lot* of stress about hearing back from schools. I also wound up in the hospital with appendicitis and had to have surgery. I suspect my body had had enough of my stressing about grad school and decided to give me something else to focus on, haha. On the upside, I did receive an unofficial acceptance from one of my two schools, so maybe the month wasn't toooo terrible. I'm certainly glad it's almost over though. I never knew one month could feel so long.

I'm only waiting on one more school, it's my top school, and I should be hearing from them one way or another any day now...
sansao Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I never knew one month could feel so long. Tell me about it. It's finally going to be March, but I also really thought I would know more than I do by now. I don't know what I'll do if this process drags on through all of March too.
mcdonaad Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 For me it will be. I've been told that my acceptances won't be coming out until the end of March.
sansao Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 For me it will be. I've been told that my acceptances won't be coming out until the end of March. There would be a little peace of mind in that for me. All I heard was that they'd come out sometime between February and April.
CarlieE Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I totally forgot this is a leap year... Woohoo! Good luck Everyone!!!
stell4 Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Lots of waiting and severe stress! 1 rejection from the school that I thought would be my best chance, and pretty much nothing for the other 6. I did find out that the program at one school recommended me, however, the grad school still needs to make their decision. Not sure if it will play out, I have a horrible GPA for my under grad degree and it is below what the grad school requires. Either which way, this is my last year teaching (high school), not the right career path for me! I have no idea what I am going to do if I don't get in. Seems no one wants to hire an over paid "babysitter", even with a degree in Chemistry.
Revo Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 It's kind of weird to think that just about 1.5 months from now, we all will have heard from schools and will have had to pick a school to attend.
