  1. A few website options for your consideration: https://www.google.ca/search?q=apartments+in+hamilton&aq=f&oq=apartments+in+hamilton&aqs=chrome.0.57j0l3j62l2.4170&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 There are good and bad areas of Hamilton, like any other city. I am actually from the area (undergrad at Mac!), so I'd be happy to offer further advice. Generally speaking, you want the west end of Hamilton. I'd suggest looking no further east than James Street and no further north than King. Westdale is an area where any street is good. Hope this helps as a starting point.
  2. I suspect you're reading too much into it. It sounds to me as though they're in the admissions process and the "good luck" was a friendly sign-off.
  3. For all those waiting on the PhD Policy Studies Program, the admissions site shows that the program is closed for 2012-13 entrants. So if you haven't heard yet, I'd say it's safe to say that the answer is "no."
  4. I've just heard from the Policy Studies administrator. The first round of acceptances had until March 30th to respond to the offer of admission. At this point, the admissions committee needs to meet again before sending out the next round. A meeting date has not yet been set. More waiting....
  5. I'm still waiting on their PhD in Policy Studies. I know the first round has gone out, but who knows at this point?
  6. You did indeed read about it on this thread. I think that our partners deserve a whole lot of praise for putting up with us all during this stressful time!
  7. For those waiting on Ryerson results, I just called the department. Decisions have been made and applicants will be notified shortly. I found out I'm on the waitlist, so while that's not BAD, I hope those who are accepted and choose to go elsewhere will notify Ryerson quickly!
  8. Congratulations! Do we dare ask where you got accepted?
  9. I've driven my partner completely 'round the bend. I'm surprised she's still living with me!
  10. I'm going to treat my wife and me to a nice dinner at a great restaurant and thank her for putting up with me and my stress!
  11. I heard that Ryerson's committee is meeting this Thursday...
  12. Makes sense. I applied to Ryerson's Policy Studies PhD program and am still waiting. Congrats on the acceptances! Where are you leaning?
  13. I applied to the Ryerson PhD in Policy Studies and have heard nothing yet unfortunately.
  14. @sabb -- where have you been accepted and for what programs?
  15. When I submitted, it took about 1 week for my "To Dos" to clear of any outstanding items.
  16. For me it will be. I've been told that my acceptances won't be coming out until the end of March.
  17. Well, I broke down and called Ryerson today. Their acceptances don't go out until the end of March. Oh how hard it is to wait...
  18. Thanks very much! Here's hoping for sooner rather than later...!
  19. I did mine at McMaster and then Waterloo. I agree that the waiting DOES suck, and I know I'm driving my family crazy with all my nuttiness!
  20. Congratulations to all those who have been accepted! It's exciting news. I'm in fingernail-biting limbo here. I applied to the PhD in Policy Studies at Ryerson and am eagerly awaiting results. Does anyone here have an idea about when they'll start sending acceptances. Survey results suggest mid-March, but who knows, right?
