Hey guys,

So who's going to Georgetown? I just got wait listed, so of course I'm wondering who's going to take their offers? :)

I emailed them to ask about the likelihood of funding, but I haven't heard anything. If there isn't any I'll take myself off the wait list and take one of my other offers.

Waitlisted as well! Georgetown is one of my top choices so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have a fully-funded offer from another school, so if Georgetown doesn't come through with funding then I'll have to remove myself from the list as well. Good luck to all of us :)

Hey guys, my BF is in at the Georgetown MA. He will probably turn down his offer. He is waitlisted for funding though so if someone whose in does t have funding, the likelihood of waitlisters getting it is small :x. But there will be a spot opening up, probably

I just got waitlisted as well. I am super-psyched, even though it's just a waitlist. I emailed the lady who sent the email to see if there is a possibility waitlisters will get funding. Their website says that some people get tuition wavers/ no assistanship... even if I got that I would accept the offer. Georgetown is my top choice.

I should also say today is visiting day

And the waitlisters weren't invited :( Is it sad that I am still ecstatic about my place on the waitlist? lol

I went for the visit today. Current students were very friendly and overall positive about the program. A few students talked about coming in without funding but making opportunities for themselves: taking tutoring positions, working part-time on campus, building relationships that led to TAships. But most likely the funding will not trickle down to those on the waitlist; that was the impression I got, anyway.

My fellow waitlistees, I received the following email today after I inquired into my placement on the list:

"Dear ---,

As stated in my email below, we have a second round of applications to process by April 15th, and the situation remains in flux until then. I understand that this date may be later than you would like, considering you have other offers, but do know that we will be in touch immediately if a place opens up for you.

In the meantime, please let me know if I can be of any more help to you."

So that sounds...not so great.
