Queen's vs. McGill Masters in Political Science

Like my people who have gotten multiple acceptances, I am confused as to where I should go.

I have been accepted at Queen's for their MA in political studies program with full funding. In addition, I got accepted at McGill for their MA in political science program, no word on funding yet.

I am inclined to accept the offer by Queen's because of their course offering and the research interests of their faculty members. On the other hand, McGill is considered as one of the top universities in Canada but their faculty members specialize in an area which is very different from what I am interested in. I will only go, if i go, to McGill because of their reputation.

At the end of the day, I want to do a phd in political science from an American university. My question is this: will it hurt me if I go to Queen's instead of McGill? Will my chances increase if I do my MA from McGill?
