Do they HAVE to tell me if I'm rejected?

I'm still waiting to hear from one of the grad schools I applied to. It's been almost two months since my interview. My friends think I'm on some kind of waitlist and they're just waiting to hear back from people they've already extended offers to (as I know several other people who applied/interviewed have gotten offers), but I've still heard NOTHING. I emailed the people who interviewed me a couple of days ago for some kind of status update but haven't gotten a response.

They're going to let me know if I'm rejected, right? I don't want to have to keep waiting forever...ughhhhh.

It is their obligation to let you know the final decision, whether its an acceptance or a rejection. I would say wait for a couple of days and then give them a call.

Yeah but nobody says when they have to tell you. A grad student in the lab I work in said he got a rejection letters as late as June.
