Is the official deadline still on April 15th if it's a Sunday? Or is the deadline now the 16th?

I have accepted at one school but I'm hoping to get a call from the waitlist for my first choice. However, I can't ask to be removed from the school I accepted at after the 15th without repercussions.

How does this process work when the official deadline is on the weekend? Will the admissions committee come in on a Sunday?

Thanks!

Yeah, almost all of my acceptances have said that I must respond by the end of the business day on the 16th.

Many of my deadlines have been either the 13th or the 20th to get around that issue. (I actually don't have any deadline, from the programs I got into, that is on the 15th.) I am sure there won't be a problem sending it in on the 16th, but you might want to ask the program about it anyway to be on the safe side.

Be safe and send it in on Friday. Universities are not as organized as the IRS, and cannot be relied upon to stick to a particular rule in case of a "Sunday 15th". Better reply early and not leave your future in the hands of an adcom that cannot agree on a date or communicate efficiently (future required skill alert).

Or better yet, just ask the university... I was told by one school that I had all day on Sunday the 15th (until midnight) to send in a decision, but that I could also ask for an extension to reply on Monday.

Different schools will most likely have slightly different deadlines, so be sure to ask.
