KristiHipp Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 I'm still waiting on news from Indiana State's Student Affairs/Higher Ed program. In order to be part of their program you have to have an assistantship. I got an email in response to one I sent from their Assistant Director of ResLife on the 11th that I was still in the candidate pool, they had to put hiring on hold because of their budget, that their budget had just been approved and that she would be making calls "in the next week or so." I was hoping that I would hear this past week, but still nothing. I don't want to seem overly persistent or pushy, so how long should I wait before I follow up again? Or do I follow up at all, since I've already emailed her once? Thanks!
Gneiss1 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 I would just wait, since you spoke with her on the 11th she knows you are still interested or if she wasnt sure she could email you. They are probably busy with things delaying their response to you or perhaps they had offered to someone they are waiting to hear back from, etc etc. Good luck!
geauxtigers Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 So it's almost been two weeks now since they said 'a week or so'? I would call them, but that's just me. I'm not good at waiting.
KristiHipp Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 Yes, it'll be two weeks on Wednesday. But I've also talked to a few people now who've told me to just wait. AGH SO CONFLICTED.
KristiHipp Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 On the bright side! My advisor (who is also my academic reference) told me this morning that they called him to ask for a reference PROGRESS!
KristiHipp Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 I GOT IN!!!! I got the call this morning
Gneiss1 Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Congrats! Yay! Haha see? They were just slow:) That's awesome though!!
