burntcheezits Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Hey...I know that for PhD programs a lot of times schools will pay your way to fly out and visit....do they ever do this with Master's programs? Also, even if you do have to pay on your own, is it worth it to visit a school you're considering if it's only just for a Master's? Of course I haven't heard anywhere yet, but I'm just thinking about hopefully in the near future, and making plans for spring break. After all, the planning is one of the few things I can do to keep me occupied while this wait is driving my crazy......
miratrix Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I think whether it's worth it depends how far it is and how much money it would cost you. If it is paid for, or won't bottom out your savings, I think it's worthwhile.
ohheygradschool Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Why wouldn't you visit for a masters? You're going to be living there for, what, 2 years?
socialpsych Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 I agree with the responses above. I don't know whether masters programs in general tend to pay, but they will tell you when they invite you, and if they don't tell you then you should definitely ask.
rising_star Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I visited the two programs I was seriously considering when I applied to MA programs. For more on visiting, head over to "Decisions, Decisions"
