edevalstudent Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Hello All, I am a graduate student starting work on my thesis. I hope to do document analyses with policy papers from school districts for my thesis. I wanted to ask you all if you can recommend good texts on qualitative methods for research, specifically using document analysis as one of the methods? Thanks!
Dal PhDer Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I haven't done a lot of qualitative work, but have used Creswell's Qualitative inquiry and research design: Choosing among five approaches quite often as a reference. You may want to think about checking out what your school has in its library, and then if you find a good reference, consider purchasing it. edevalstudent 1

Qualitative research & evaluation methods (3rd ed.). Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage Publications, Inc. Expensive, but you totally won't regret investing in this book! The best price I found was on amazon. Good luck! edevalstudent 1
