meemz Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Has anyone applied to or know of any Higher Education Masters programs that only require 2 rec letters? Most that I have taken interest in seem to require 3, but if anyone knows of programs that ask for less I'd be interested in looking into those...
studentaffairsgrad Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I've only seen three. I would caution against applying to a program based on the amount of letters of rec they ask for. If you need an extra reference, volunteering is always a great way to get a reference. Or if you're still in college, there are ample opportunities to get to know professors, as most programs ask that one of your references is from professor.
michigan girl Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Most graduate admissions programs will require at least three recommendations (2 academic, 1 professional). I'm sure you will be able to find a third person (whether professor or supervisor) to write on your behalf. Sit down with them, explain your future plans, and tell them your accomplishments. It would be best to use someone who has known you for at least three months.
jmau Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Northwestern University only requires 2 letters for their MS in Higher Education
HigherEd2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Try to get a third one. You will be extremely limited in the programs you can apply to based on that criteria. With that being said, I know UVA only requires two for their program.
Loseric Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Concur with UVA and Northwestern. Boston College is another one that only requires 2 letters.
Lulubelle Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 The University of South Carolina only requires two.
