I'm starting a MA in musicology at University of Calgary this fall - not very known for its music dept but I plan to make the best of it. I don't have an undergrad degree in music, but I already have a masters in cultural studies and have some piano and voice training. I'm interested in popular music in general, but I also have an interest in music of the Classical period and its transitions to the Romantic period. I have a number of ideas for my thesis but I'll probably narrow it down to one right before I arrive at my new school. What programmes are you all going to? What are yoru research interests?
