Has anyone heard of the NDSEG being rolling?

I haven't received an email either, but the five other people I know who applied have gotten an email (4 rejections, 1 acceptance). I can't imagine them not notifying everybody at once unless they actually haven't made a decision on everyone yet..

who knows, all i know is when i called the guy said we cant offer you "at this time" whatever that means. I havent received a rejection yet either. I am clueless

It may be. That would explain why you have to accept within a week of the offer. It would also explain why the rejection notifications are so spaced out. Seems like you might get an offer after this Friday if other people have not accepted.

I haven't heard anything one way or another yet either. Maybe it depends on your discipline whether or not they've decided the winners yet? I'm chemistry, what are other people?

I just called ASEE, and I told them that I haven't received an email either way, and he told me that they are still in the process of emailing "a few thousand" applicants. I asked him if all the people who have yet to be notified are people who did not get the fellowship, and he said no, there are some people who will get the fellowship who have yet to be notified.

My thoughts are that it is either rolling, or perhaps one of the branches of the military has not yet finished reviewing their applications.

I still have not heard anything. I've tried calling but I only get an answering machine with some guy that cannot enunciate saying (what sounds like) that you can email if you need the results. I've tried emailing but have not received a response. This is really getting pathetic.

Well the website has now changed...now it says " The NDSEG Fellowship Program is in the process of contacting applicants with the results of this year's competition."

So does that mean they send things out today?

I just called and they said that they are still in the process of notifying applicants and that they expect to finish by the end of the week.

I called the ASEE this morning and asked them about the number of remaining fellowships. They said there was just one left, from ONR, to be awarded to Xavier Zabarsky for his biodefense project in Zoology.

i haven't heard anything either... i called them last week and they told me that i would know by the end of the week, which didn't happen. i'm going to be realistic here--i think we all know that if we haven't heard by now, there's almost no chance that we will be getting a fellowship. however, i am annoyed enough about their incompetence throughout this award notification procedure that i'm willing to keep calling/e-mailing them until i get a definitive answer. i think they ought to hear from everybody regarding the ineffectiveness of their procedure and how they should consolidate everything between the different agencies so that award notifications/rejections are sent at the same time. let me know if any of you hear back from them, and i'll do the same.

as i said earlier, i don't think they're awarding any more fellowships... in fact, i doubt they will even contact those who didn't get the fellowship.
