I wrote to a professor there who replied saying that the department can take just two candidates for 2013..that too only likely to guarantee 3 years of funding..

anybody from hear from ut? i emailed a week ago and got a response saying not all candidates had been notified... but i think my hope is pretty much extinguished at this point.

Yes, I also applied to cultural forms and haven't heard so much as a peep. UT usually takes a while, at least for anthro.
