StephanieM Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Now that my time to apply to grad school draws closer, I'm very concerned over my many W's. I had a long-term illness that was misdiagnosed over and over again, with a surgery coming to "solve" it, then again, it came back. This caused me to have to have W's. Only one of these has been in core course of my major. I have a 3.88 GPA, lots of research experience, won the Boren scholarship, speak four languages, am in the Honors Program. However, I'm terrified the W's will haunt me regardless of my achievements. What are the odds of me ever getting into a top program like this?
Quant_Liz_Lemon Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 As long as you have a rec letter address it, it won't hurt you.
R Deckard Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 (edited) I had a few and it didn't seem to affect my outcome at all. You can PM me about it if you like. Edited October 22, 2012 by R Deckard
blaspheming Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I have two straight semesters of unexplained W's (and a couple W's the following year) and I still got in.
catchermiscount Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 At least you guys were smart enough to withdraw. Try two semesters of Fs instead. RWBG 1
