scofield24 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I am applying to like a lot of schools 5+, so each of my recommender will receive a lot of email for reference. I know professors are very busy, so when should I sent them a reminder email after initial recommendation link are sent to them? A week?
TakeruK Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I'd send them a reminder email 1-2 weeks before the letter is due and then one more reminder 1-2 days before it's due. Usually I trust my profs will write the LOR on time if they have written back to clearly confirm they will write the letter after my initial request. You can also ask them what / how often they prefer reminders!
alf10087 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 I read in a book that every 8 natural days is a good parameter for reminding them. It is not so frequently that it feels harassing, but it also won't leave them hanging, thinking that you lost interest in the process. HappyCat13 1
