Guest lefilsdhomme Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Hopefully this has relevance for everyone on here. I have an opinion question about listing scores. I have taken the GRE twice and did significantly better in the verbal the second time and slightly worse in the other two sections (clearly the result of top heavy studying. I'm applying to humanities programs). The applications only list one option for GRE scores, but I submitted both scores to all of my schools. I see three options here: 1. List the best overall single test (first try). 2. List the scores from the second test with higher verbal. 3. List the date and the verbal score of the second test, and the better sections from the first (picking and choosing essentially). Thoughts? I don't want this to potentially be held against me, but I want my application to reflect my top efforts....
WishfulThinker Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Most universities ask for the scores of a single test, so I'm not sure if mixing information between scores might be a good idea. I'd just pick the best overall score. Or maybe list both tests scores if you can.
iowaguy Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 My applications have asked for a single test, i.e. when you give the V, Q, and AW scores, on the same line you have to put the test date. So you can't really cherry pick that way, you have to choose one test date and give the scores from it.
alf10087 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 You have to choose only one, as after they admit you (hopefully) you need to send the official scores and ETS will only send a report for one of the tests.
