triplebogey Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 An iPad may be in my future, and I'll be glad to have it for a variety of reasons. In the meantime though I'm wondering about productivity via Pages. Does anyone know if Pages supports footnotes? And if so, can files produced in Pages be exported in a format Word can read, so that a document can be edited in Word?
GingerbreadLatte Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Yes and yes. But I hear Microsoft Office for iPad is coming soon, in which case I wouldn't bother with Pages.
laura_b Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I like Pages better than Word myself, but there can be compatibility issues if you have to send attachments. You have to save the file as a .doc and sometimes it won't open on the other person's computer. Footnotes, headers, etc, are very easy to do in Pages. Keynote, the presentation program that comes with Apple iWork, is amazingly better than PowerPoint, and you can even save the files as quicktime movie. I can't imagine typing papers on an iPad or any other tablet though.
