I'm working on my final app to UCI and I can't find a place to upload any supplemental materials- CV, writing sample. etc. Anyone know where you can do this? I didn't want to call the dept and look dumb if it's something obvious that I'm missing. Help please. :)

I don't recall the online application having a drop box for a CV. However, the department instructs you on how to submit the writing sample. I applied to the history department and it had information regarding the graduate coordinator I had to email my WS to, who then responded on receipt  I'm not sure if this is also the case for the department you are applying to, but more likely than not, it is. I would just recheck the department's website.

Thank you! I'll double check! :D

You need to send your cv, transcripts, and writing sample in hard copy. I applied to their sociology program and they had me mail that stuff to their social sciences admission people. Check with your department.

I just want to thank you for posting this (!!)... because I mailed my transcripts to Irvine but didn't even think about the CV.  And, having been out of undergrad for almost 7 years, it kind of has everything relevant I've been doing in the meantime on it, lol.  Putting it in the mail today!  Whew!

Yay! I'm glad that I'm not the only one who benefitted. Thanks for the advice! I'll mail the hard copy today. :)

For the people who have mailed their CV, are you using "resume" paper?

I wondered whether I should, and then decided yes.  I figure it probably doesn't matter, really.  They probably just scan it in or something.

I just found this thread. There wasn't a spot for a CV or resume upload. Instead, they had the long questionnaire (the application) and all the information that is on a CV or resume was asked on the questionnaire. I think this is their way of formalizing the data so that they can do comparative analysis via spreadsheet. Leslie Noel is the person I would ask if you still have questions. I gave my POI mine, so that she can refer to it if she is brought into the conversation. She is not on the ADCom; at least I don't think so.

I wanted to add that I mailed the CV, then asked the grad admissions guy whether the online status website would reflect when they received the "optional" CV.  He said it would... so we'll see... I just want confirmation that it gets there, lol.  The online app definitely did not have a place for me to put some of the stuff on my CV...
