nirmalnischal33 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 I have been offered admission to the PhD program in atmospheric physics at Clemson University and Ohio State University. In addition, PhD in condensed matter physics has also been offered by Louisiana State University. All three offers include full tuition waiver and assistantship. Nevertheless, i have applied in few more universities whose decisions have not been made yet. What do you guys think about a career in atmospheric physics???
jimmybdot Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 It's more important what you think about a career in atmospheric physics. You must have applied there for a reason. 33andathirdRPM 1
foreverfree Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 ^this. Just in terms of rankings, I think OSU is the most prestigious of the three..I know they have some very good researchers over there though I'm not familiar with their atmospheric physics research. If it's in the same dept. there's always a chance you could do a lab rotation and see if you're more interested in something else, though again I'm not that familiar with the program. That might be the case at all schools, or they might want you to find a lab ASAP. Congrats on the acceptances!
