Stanford EE PhD Applications Fall 2013

Hi everyone,

 

Is there anyone who has received any communication from Stanford EE? This can either be in the form of an unofficial notification from POI or an official email from the department/graduate school.

 

I guess the so called "formal" decisions are about to arrive in a few days according to the last year's results.

 

So, please share your results/communications/thoughts...

My application on appyweb says: "If you applied to one of our full-time programs for Autumn 2013, you will receive the admissions decision by the second week of March. Please do not contact our office regarding the review status of your application."

 

There is however one result under "stanford electrical" in the results section.

it is an informal admission. So I guess they will send all the acceptance/rejection letters in March

Your applications don't mention it? I don't think it has anything to do with admissions decision. It's just their way of letting us know when a decison is expected and not to annoy them by asking for it.

I have the same comment in my application, then assumed that all EE applicants are getting the same comment.

I am also an applicant to Stanford but for Management Science; just wanted to know if faculty of engineering in Stanford schedule interview before admitting to school or they admit outright. I have not heard them back yet.

I have not heard anyone being interviewed by the engineering department. Basically, they give their admissions outright.

Huge number of responses on the result page for Stanford.

 

Initial wave of PhD acceptances, followed by many "rejections"  (PhD applicants who are offered masters; ie no funding and basically PhD rejection.)

 

Not that optimistic, but gotta wait until the actual letter.
