Here. Applying to MS at UIUC, UC Irvine, USC, and Villanova. Been accepted to USC, no word from other schools

I'm applying to civil programs, including MIT. Haven't heard anything, but it's not really bothering me b/c I have no expectation of getting in. :/

(The prof I really want to work with took on three students last year and isn't at all likely to take any this year . . . I applied anyway because you never know!)

In my case, I have not received any confirmation from UIUC, UCB, Virginia tech.

Do you know something about those Universities?

- UCB: No news. Read many instances of and complaints about the slowness of their process. Although, somebody already posted "Accepted" for the Master on thegradcafe.

- MIT: Got a scanned copy of my acceptance letter by e-mail. Saw few other results on thegradcafe.

- CMU: No news.

- JHU: Was told by a POI that he had recommended me for admission and funding; was told by another one that an invitation was being issued. All by e-mail.

Aw shoot, niven2, I haven't heard anything from MIT . . . I saw the acceptances posted in the results area but was hoping it was somebody trolling . . .  now I'm depressed. :) Congrats on your acceptance, though! What's your focus within CE?

I had been hoping for early word from CMU since I thought that was my best fit out of all the programs I applied to. Looks like in past years the decisions have been kind of spread out, but have started in mid Februrary. Hope we hear soon!

Heard from CMU this morning -- got an email telling me to check the website, acceptance letter was there!

I had applied to MIT CEE (environmental microbiology PhD); most of my other applications weren't to civil engineering programs, though. Congrats niven2 on your acceptance there! I'm gearing up for bad news this week from them, can't say it's unexpected though. Good luck to everyone else with your CE applications!
