lifeincartoonmotion Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 A few weeks ago, UGA sent me a letter that said I had until March 12th to accept their offer. I read CGS site, so I thought I was safe. Today I read some where on the boards that the April 15th deadline only applies to Phd programs? Is this really the case? It is an MSW program. I'm emailing the dept. but just thought I might get an answer here first! Thanks!
rising_star Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 The MSW is a professional program so I think the rules are different. You can always email the graduate school and ask.
yivorechecho Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 This is happening to me, too (MA-SLP). Every program but one has a decision deadline of April 15 just 'cuz, even though I don't think they're bound to that. But one made me respond within 30 days. I currently have a $300 deposit in there to hold my spot. I can't do campus visits yet because I'm still at school and it would cost too much. I'm visiting programs March 21, 28, and April 3, and if I change my mind based on those visits or a financial package that I've been told is coming in the near future, I will forfeit that $300 and enroll elsewhere. Sucks, but it's the cost of doing business.
lifeincartoonmotion Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 It does suck. I guess I'm lucky...the program isn't asking for money. They just want an email saying I've accepted their offer. I guess I could withdraw it later....I'll see what the office says. Thanks for the replies!

I don't know about MSWs, and the resolution itself does not specify what type of programs it applies to.
