I read that Canadians don't need to apply for student visas in order to study in the States? But if my spouse is a non-Canadian/non-American citizen, would I still be allowed to bring her along as a dependent? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
RiseofthePhoenix Posted February 24, 2013 Share Posted February 24, 2013 You need to check with the international student office of your prospective university or go to the INS website to get up to date information regarding this. But I am pretty sure all foreign nationals need a student visa to study in the US, and that includes citizens of Canada. I am also pretty sure that your spouse can travel with you to the US ad legally reside under the F-2 dependent visa. However, her visa won't allow her to work (or study??) in the US.
