Sumac77
Hi all, I'm waiting to hear back from Rutgers GSE for an EdD application. We've talked about this briefly on the main thread, but I wanted to open it up here directly. It seems like most acceptances in the records went out about this time last year. Have you guys heard anything else for EdD or PhD since our last convo? I've emailed grad admissions and the GSE, but might as well be sending smoke signals. RandiZ
Yeah, history shows this week. I'm thinking it'll be longer as folks wonder about the sequester. Funding may be an issue if the politicians don't get their act together before Friday. But seriously, I got an email from a professor who thinks it'll be a few weeks, as in two or three. Sumac77
Oh man. That's a ways off! Thanks!
Sumac77
Well, it seems there's some activity on the results board. One respondant was called for an interview, so that's a good sign.
Sumac77
Got an email from the edd program that was,an unofficial acceptance to the program, and it is also reflected on the check status page. Yeah! RandiZ
RandiZ
Congrats Sumac77! I got my official acceptance in the mail this week. The program director said to expect a funding decision next week. He added, without promising anything, that it will likely come but a number of current students had grants run out and the GSE is committed to take care of them first. I've spoken to a number of people attending Rutgers or other PhD programs. They all advise me to take this offer based on the resources available, what I want to study, and what I want to do when I've earned my degree. Bottom line for me is without funding I can't go. But, I'm feeling really hopeful and excited right about now. Going out and about with a real estate agent tomorrow.
Sumac77
Congrats RandiZ!! Real estate shopping sounds fun! I grew up in the area, and have to say that I do miss it quite a bit. I'm with you in the same boat- funding is a real breaking point. The head of my program emailed to say that they don't give out funding offers to students who aren't enrolled yet. So that makes this one a bit tricky.... Hope you hear some good news from your program soon, and good luck with the home hunting!
