rllnyc Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I'm sitting in on a journalism class tonight at NYU.....the department chair that had emailed me saying she was impressed by my application invited me to do so and it has finally been arranged. What I'm wondering is if I'll be expected to speak with the professor before/after the class? Are they going to sneak in an interview of some sort?? As far as I know, they just arranged for me to sit in......I don't even know if I'll be seeing the lady that contacted me. Any thoughts?
Sconnie Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I would definitely be prepared to speak with the Professor before class briefly to introduce yourself and quite possibly after. It will be a good opportunity to get to know someone in the program and have them get to know you. Even if it isn't scheduled you should try to have some conversation with them.
uromastyx Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 Agreed, be prepared to speak with the professor. Even if they don't want an "interview" you should use this opportunity to your advantage. Show up with some questions.
rllnyc Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 Do I take notes during the class like a student??
