Hi y'all!

Just got my acceptance letter from Penn State (YAY)! And I was wondering who else was accepted? I'm really interested in what the diversity of fields looks like for this year and how many of us there were :) Penn State was definitely my top choice so I can't wait to be an official Nittany Lion!

@kunstgeschichtedude first of all, nice handle ; )

Also, that's awesome! I want to study with Elizabeth Walters while I'm there. Hopefully we'll hear some news about funding soon  :)

Thanks, Sogni! Sorry for the late response, I've been bed-ridden recently from a bad cold, but I guess in way that is more of an excuse to go on gradcafe. I think it's great that you're going to be studying with her; Penn State's faculty is so diverse in its interests! I thought that when I was applying to schools I was going to get shut out, but I've been surprised with the responses I've been getting so far, so I have some tough decisions to make. However, if I do go to Penn State, it would be a pleasure to meet you! I'll message you my info!

Totally joining this conversation. I was accepted to the M.A and confirmed today that I will be attending in the fall at Penn State! I am also a Northern Ren person! I am crazy excited about starting in the Fall. I just went to visit the program and everyone/thing was amazing!

Charlotte Houghton is such a sweetheart! How did transportation work out? I'm trying to figure out the best way to visit. I'm from New York, and I think they offered all accepted applicants some money to come see Penn State. Any suggestions would be helpful!

She was great. I am a PA resident so I am not sure if that contributed to their visitation funding. However, it was well worth the effort, and definitely solidified my choice. They are excellent at planning. I gave them dates for my visit and was subsequently presented with three appointments. I met with Drs. Houghton, Zabel and Locke, all of whom were so nice and so helpful. So definitely go if you can! NY isn't that far anyway (depending). What part of N. Ren ae you interested in?

I drove (I live about 2 hours away, 2.5 with the obligatory coffee stop). So they figured out the milage and reimbursed me for gas. Equally, PSU paid for my one night stay and set up dinner with current grad students. Also, M.A. or Ph.D for you?

I'm from Ohio and they also gave me a night stay with reimbursement for travel (for those who also were reimbursed have you gotten anything yet?). I agree with everyone above. My visit was amazing! Everyone is so friendly so I'm really excited for the Fall. I'm also an incoming MA student.

Also, has anyone heard about funding yet? I heard we're supposed to hear this week???

Thank you montalcina and Sogni! I am also an MA applicant, and I am particularly interested in German altarpieces and creative agency in Early Netherlandish commissioned panel paintings. Even though I plan to visit sometime this week or next, I might be accepting an offer from a Ph.D. program elsewhere, but I'm still on the rope. I've never had a more difficult decision to make.

As for funding, I received a letter saying that my tuition is being waived and that I'm eligible for a Bunton-Waller Graduate Award/Assistantship. Ugh... I'm so conflicted, but fortunate nonetheless!

I am mainly intereted in the exchange and dissemination of artistic production and visual culture in the Early Modern Period. I also received my funding offer, which helped to solidify my decision.

@Sogni I have not been reimbursed yet, which is concerning because my visit was almost a month ago. However, if you are definitely going to PSU and would be interested in PMing me that'd be cool.

By the way? How is your housing search going? Is it just me, or is State College a bit pricey?
