oatsoy Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Another day without an answer! I wonder what the hold-up is? I've thought about this and there's two possibilities. 1. Not all the admissions decisions have been made (accept/reject/waitlist). But then I think that can't be the case because if it were, then they have been releasing decisions when they haven't even finished reviewing all applications. 2. They've made all the decisions. But then I'm left wondering why they can't just released them all at once. I know of no other school stretching it out over such a long period. This is the last school I'm waiting for, and they've given me the most vague of all timetables.
rz922 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Oh man, im so sorry you guys are still waiting...Try to enjoy the weekend. Hope you hear something soon
ansac111 Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 whats happening at GTown, why are they not releasing all the decisions ?
Vans12 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I'm still waiting... no news in the mail or in the applyyourself sistem. This is crazy. I'm in SAIS (and so I'm more relaxed) but, man... that's incredible.
heyheymse Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Ditto for me. Maybe their distress at losing to Florida Gulf Coast has made it difficult for them to function. bfoo, ivydreams3, ZacharyObama and 1 other 4
Kadisha Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Have any of you guys still waiting tried to call them?
hlove Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Have any of you guys still waiting tried to call them? I just got off the phone with admissions. According to them, letters are going out as decisions are made and this will continue (at the latest) till the end of next week but should be done by the end of this week. Also financial aid letters won't be included but should follow soon after. Not sure how great a decision this is on the part of Georgetown as I am already looking ahead to the other schools I've been admitted to. Originally, my top two were SAIS and GT but now I'm almost complete decided on SAIS.
oatsoy Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I'm one of those people that has been waiting....and I just got their email: waitlisted.
heyheymse Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Good news: heard back from Georgetown, finally. Bad news: did not get into Georgetown. OH WELL GUESS I'LL HAVE TO GO TO THE LONDON SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS.
hlove Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Dinged. Probably would have been more upset two weeks ago, but now I'm just relieved to have all the information so I can start making a decision. Congrats to all that got in. I'm more than likely off to SAIS (my top choice!)

nvanvliet Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Hey guys, still haven't heard anything... Anyone else still waiting?
PrattIAFF Posted March 31, 2013 Posted March 31, 2013 Just declined my offer... hope a spot opens for some of you still waiting or waitlisted!
tanda1 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Hey guys, This is a super late post compared to how long you guys have been holding discussions here for, but I am a newbie to the grad cafe and just recently figured it out. I too was wait-listed at Georgetown. I was wondering how many of you got the email from Tara Campbell asking if you were still interested, and if any of you know when we are likely to hear from them by. Further there's another thing I've been fretting about, which is how lenient they are in terms of granting deferrals, especially to people who've been admitted off the wait-list. Any thoughts? Oh, and Congratulations to you all on your numerous wonderful offers!

I was wondering how many of you got the email from Tara Campbell asking if you were still interested, and if any of you know when we are likely to hear from them by. I called the admissions and was told that the wailtlisted students will start hearing about the final decisions no earlier than May 1. So I guess we should start hearing from them soon. Cheers

We have a few more people with later deadlines (mid-month), so I will be in touch again in a couple of weeks." I don't have that much time to decide!
ndeutsch77 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I didn't get an updated e-mail and I am still on the waitlist... Is this the case for anyone else?
