Seatbelt Blue Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 (edited) I'm almost certainly going to be attending an unfunded program at Seton Hall. Tuition is actually fairly inexpensive, but it's still more than I can afford and still graduate in any reasonable amount of time. Does anybody have any ideas on getting this paid for besides student loans? It's a 36 credit program that's about $600 or so a credit at half-rate tuition, which I'll be receiving. arthasdk Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Sounds like we are in a similar position! I will also be attending an unfunded program and I'm trying to find outside sources. I know it's late in the game at this point, but have you found anything? I'm finding that either the deadline has passed or the funding is for full-time students (I'll be part-time).
msmith1990 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I wound up accepting my program, banking on finding funding in the next year or so, but I didn't receive any funding for first year. But I just received an email last week from my DGS (who's been great about keeping me informed about stuff) about a scholarship from the Office of Graduate Education for students who don't have any other funding. It's not a lot -- 6 credits a year. But it's definitely more than I was expecting, and it comes out to about $6500. I would email your school's OGE and see if there's anything similar. I know we always expect to receive program or department funding, but if you cast a broader net, the school might be able to get you something.
