How can I increase my chance of getting funding at Stanford EE?

Hi,

 

I was admitted to Stanford EE PhD, but funding has not been decided. In fact, Stanford EE has sent out all funding offers. If someone decline its offer, the department will distribute the fellowships to someone else. Does anyone know how to increase my chance of getting funding?

 

Besides, I have only one offer with fellowship from University of Maryland, College Park. I really don't know how to choose between them if Stanford does not give me any financial aid.

Even if you don't get a fellowship, can't you still apply for RA or TA? They'll cover most of your tuition, if not all.

Thanks for your reply. Stanford EE does not offer TA/RA to newly admitted students. The only kind of financial support is fellowship...

Go to the university that offers you financial aid.

It is stupid to go into debt because of graduate school

Agreed. An unfunded PhD program should not even be a choice.
