zourah Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Yep, had the exact same thing happen (right down to the amount). That's an especially good deal for your program - I have a friend doing that track who's interning with (& has been offered a post-graduation job with) State right now - it seems to do quite well by its students.
Snowden12 Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Anyone know what happens to the financial aid that's not taken? If those offered 17k decide to go elsewhere, what happens to that money? I haven't heard a thing yet on the money, but I'm overseas so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

This isn't GW, but I suspect most schools do what SIPA describes in a recent admissions blog post: offer more than they really have, knowing some won't take it. I don't believe that any school does fellowship "waitlisting," for example.
jointdegree Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Congratulations Zourah. Glad to hear the unexpected surprise. Is the fellowship for 17K each year? If so, that is a great deal!
DCbound Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Hi everyone, got my packet a few days ago... they said I was declined for any fellowships but no mention of any financial aid package/loans. Does anyone know if this information will be sent separately? I also heard back from SIS and they sent me my financial aid award package for federal loans with my acceptance packet-- will I receive something similar from Elliott or am I on my own as far as loans are concerned?
