gregg827 Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Hello everyone, I applied to the master's program in music composition at NYU Steinhardt. This will actually be my second masters; I want to get more experience before going for my Ph.D or DMA. Anyway, I have yet to hear from them, so I e-mailed the admissions office, who in turn told me my application is still under review. Is it bad taste to try to contact the music department directly and ask? I know "the squeaky wheel gets the oil," but at the same time, I don't want to annoy anyone. It's just killing me checking these forums, my email, and my mailbox multiple times a day! Thanks, Gregg
callista Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 I don't think it would be in bad taste at all - especially at this late date. Is there a director of graduate studies in the department?
gregg827 Posted April 19, 2013 Author Posted April 19, 2013 I think so. There is a woman to whom I was speaking before I applied, when I was just searching around for graduate programs. Maybe I'll shoot her an e-mail to find out what is going on.
