crazyhappy Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 (edited) Hello, so I just won a departmental award! YAY! The awards ceremony is tomorrow, yikes, and I have to present 5 minutes of my paper and a bio. Does anyone know what I should include in my bio? I haven't really done anything yet--just finished my MA in English. Also, what part of my paper do you think would be best to present--intro and conclusion? Any advice on presenting a part of a paper and writing a brief bio for something like this would be greatly appreciated. Hope everyone else is having fantastic luck today too! edited to add...I don't know what I'd do without these boards!!!! Edited May 2, 2013 by crazyhappy Strong Flat White 1
aGiRlCalLeDApPlE Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 First, congratulations ! I guess reading your abstract will do the job since it already has a brief introduction about your topic and the conclusion. And as for your bio, I think you may include: your name, affiliation, specialization and ... I guess that should be fine. If you have only 5 minutes then you don't need to include more details. I hope that helps and best of luck. crazyhappy 1
champagne Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 "crazyhappy is a proud parent. When not surrounded by children, crazyhappy enjoys having in-depth conversations with the house's other inhabitants: Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jr., Jr., Mario Incandenza, and Joan Rivers. Phillip and Mario are both English Ivies while Joan is a Weeping Fig. The four of them enjoy discourse on postcolonial thought and it's proper place within modern geopolitics. Joan RIvers, as you might have guessed, can sometimes be somewhat of a raging bitch." That should suffice. crazyhappy 1
