Writing the SOP/LOI

Some schools don't provide a guideline on how long your statement of purpose or letter of intent should be. 

 

So... How long was yours? And how long is too long?

I ran into this problem to and its kind of annoying.  Half my schools state up to 2pgs while the other half state nothing.  2pgs sounds good to me.  You can also contact the school and inquire.

2 pages or 800-1000 words is long enough that you can write what you want/need to say and short enough that they won't get bored.

Even if some of your prospective schools don't provide a guideline, the best thing to do is to contact them, as MsDarjeeling has already alluded to. It worked for me.
