annika Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 I took time off between high school and college to pursue a career as a professional dancer (a bad idea with my particular knee injury, I quickly learned after 6 months). As a result, I started college in the spring semester, not the fall, and graduated in 3.5 years, not 4. I no longer dance and my intended degree in sociology has almost nothing to do with my dance career. Is it worth explaining the rushed undergrad, or should I just leave it out?
TakeruK Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 No, I don't think 0.5 years is a big enough gap to warrant explaining! If you have a good reason to bring it up in the SOP then it won't necessarily be bad, but I don't think you need to bring it up just because it's a gap.
MsDarjeeling Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Nope that isn't necessary to explain in your sop. The only place that might come up may be in an interview and I doubt even that.
