Questions about contacting professors after admission

So, I finally received my first admission for my M.S. (what a relief), but I don't yet know about funding. It is acceptable to contact professors after admission (but before acceptance) regarding RA opportunities? This is something I neglected before I applied. Or should I just sit on my hands?

Also, I'm going to plan a visit. Would it be acceptable to ask the professor if I could meet with him?

I was accepted with a non-thesis option but plan on trying to get a sponsor (hopefully the same prof) and converting to thesis-option.

Well, I dunno if it was the right thing to do, but I contacted profs after I was admitted to tell them how excited I was about the program and to ask about assistantships. Both sent happy messages back and told me something about when/whether they decide on RAs and TAs. No news since then, but hey. :)

WEll i dont know if the custom varies by program but when i went for a visit the department set up appointments for us to meet with potential research advisors and anyone who wasn't available they encouraged us to email and talk to.I talked to 3 profs while i was there and I've been back a week and emailed an additional 4 professors. I just tell them i've been accepted, thought their research sounded interesting, asked if they had room for any grad students this fall, and if so what types of projects they had available. So far the response has been very helpful, long detailed emails telling me about their work and offers to setup skype chats if i have any questions. It makes sense to contact them before deciding because what if you're trying to decide between more than one school, you have to know if the profs you're interested in working with even have room for students.

My program supervisor phoned my twice to discuss funding, both of them after admission. He also let me very confortable to put any questions about funding, though I prefer to do that with the graduate officer.
