To those of you who have called the office: Are they generally receptive to calls?  I'd really like to at least know the date I can expect to hear by, as it's unfair to keep my other potential way less exciting summer plans waiting indefinitely.  But, I am sure they are busy and don't want to irritate them too much!

I have generally had a hard time getting a hold of either Anne or Elena. I was able to call in last week early in the morning, something like 9 Am Eastern Time, and was able to have Elena answer.

I called Anne at 11 am eastern time yesterday, and she picked up right away. She was very friendly about taking my call, and forthcoming about when I would hear back.

FYI for those still waiting on Singapore: Offers are being sent out later today and tomorrow (Just talked to Elena, she was an excellent help if you still haven't heard back).

Alright. I just talked to her. She said she follows up on everyone who doesn't respond to make sure, even talking to advisors, so I'm all clear.

Same here. And she was super friendly. I got a smiley face and she said that she was looking forward to seeing me in April, which suggests that the tentative offer isn't really that tentative.

I emailed Elena yesterday and she told me they are still working on China, but told me to keep the dates for orientation open...I hope that's a good sign.

Another person on here heard about Singapore on Wednesday so I guess the Singapore announcements all went out. I didn't get an email so I assume I didn't get in.

I got my tentative offer for Taiwan on Monday.

Does anyone know when we are suppose to receive the stipend? It's not clear to me from the handbook, but it sounds like it would be some time during the summer institute period.

For those still waiting and think they may not get offer, don't give up hope.  People were receiving tentative offers for Australia two weeks ago, and I just received one last week.
