Northwestern University Cluster Statements?

Just wondering what the thoughts are on submitting/not submitting a cluster statement in the Northwestern University app... I just don't think I know enough about the programs aside from what is available on their website and I don't want to unintentionally lock myself into something that I can join into at any point in my time at Northwestern.

I will be writing one (for Medieval Studies) because it may help with my apparent fit at Northwestern, therefore increasing my chances of admission.

Hi everyone! I have the same question as Harmonielehre... Thoughts on whether it's a good idea to submit a cluster statement? 

 

And for those of you who are submitting cluster statements (or have in the past), what are you focusing on? I'm having a hard time writing a full page about why I want to join a group that I know next to nothing about.
