Co-signing LOR

Would it be considered rude to ask if another (more well-known) professor could co-sign a LOR written by a lesser-known professor? I worked in the research group of one well-known prof, but worked more directly with a lesser-known one who knows my work better. What would be the correct way to go about asking this?

Get a letter from both.

I don't know the more senior professor as well, since I only met a few times with him and this was in a group setting. He is familiar with my work, but more the results than the research process.

I have never heard of asking someone to sign a letter that someone else wrote, but it sounds patronizing to the person who actually wrote the letter to have that signature be not good enough.
