Gradstudent101 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Would it be considered rude to ask if another (more well-known) professor could co-sign a LOR written by a lesser-known professor? I worked in the research group of one well-known prof, but worked more directly with a lesser-known one who knows my work better. What would be the correct way to go about asking this? Thanks!

Gradstudent101 Posted October 18, 2013 Author Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) I don't know the more senior professor as well, since I only met a few times with him and this was in a group setting. He is familiar with my work, but more the results than the research process. Edited October 18, 2013 by csling
Lisa44201 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I have never heard of asking someone to sign a letter that someone else wrote, but it sounds patronizing to the person who actually wrote the letter to have that signature be not good enough. biotechie, MyWorkIsDone, nugget and 2 others 5
