Question about GRE

I scored in GRE

 

162 Quantitative

150 Verbal

2.5 Analytical

 

Can I apply to universities with that score, or it will be a waste of money for the admission?

160+ on quant is great

 

your verbal is not too bad

 

but the analytical score doesn't look good.  even though  the writing section is a complete joke, a 2.5 will raise red flags.

 

can to retake it- mainly for the writing?

dude, we are on the same boat. 162Q 148V, 4 AW, 

applying to MIT ( doesn't require GRE )

and yale ( i have talked to a prof there )

You should definitely try to retake it if you can. As it was mentioned before, the low writing score will raise some concerns.

Whether that's worth waiting a whole year for, that'll depend. Can you explain your way out of it?

Yes, you should retake the GRE just to improve the AW score to 4.0 or higher.
