can one apply to statistics PhD and biostatistics PhD at the same time at Washington?

I see on the application page that it says: 

 

If you want to apply to more than one program, you must submit an application and pay the fee for each program.

 

 

But I was wondering if anyone has experience applying to both or can otherwise confirm that it's ok.

I know of at least one person who was admitted to both the stat and biostat departments in the same application cycle.
